Shared bathrooms in Employee Housing are nasty and people will use your stuff if you leave it out. Use a bathroom bag to keep all of your stuff together and stash it back in your room.

It would be rare to have your own bathroom doing seasonal work, you’re going to need a way to carry your shower stuff back and forth to your room.

If you don’t use shower shoes in Employee Housing you’re begging to get something growing on your foot.

If you’re not at work you will have your Chacos on, they are the greatest summer shoes ever made.

Seriously, you only need hiking boots if you’re planning on hiking technical terrain a lot, or plan on doing multi-day trips. Hiking shoes work just as good and you can wear them around town too.

You’ll need some casual/running shoes. You never know what you’re going to get invited to; golfing, kickball games, etc.

I never have enough drawers in Employee Housing. If you have a closet this solves the problem.

These come in all shapes and sizes. Wait until you get checked into your employee housing and order something online that will fit your room. Any extra storage you can make will get used.

At $25, these are a a steal. Coupled with vacuum sealed bags, you could fit more than enough clothes for a 6 month season in just 2 of them.

A fan is essential!!! Make sure it is rechargeable and clip on. You might end up in the top bunk without an outlet. Not fun in the dog days of summer when your housing is hot and muggy.

You’re almost guaranteed to have a roommate when doing seasonal work. A reading light is the only way to not make enemies.

A good water bottle is a neccisity. Hikes, beach days, or next to your bed – you’ll always need one. Get a sturdy one that has a screw on lid.

Who doesn’t need a good coffee mug?

You can save a ton of money during a season if you bring your own food when you can. These are great for restaurant workers too, if they let you fill it up at the end of your shift and trade your roommates for beer.

Laundry usually sucks in employee housing. Make your life easier and come prepared with some kind of laundry bag. The backpack style is way better than trying to carry a basket down 4 flights of stairs.

Make sure you ask what kind of shoes you’ll need in your interview. Buying them when you get there will mean not many choices and expensive. If you have room, this is an item to buy and bring with you.

Find a cheap tablet that you can download movies on and watch later with no internet. Bring it to work and download stuff to watch later when you get back to your room.

If you get lucky and have good wifi in your employee housing, order a Fire Stick and buy a TV at a garage sale.

Bring a pair of ‘fancy pajamas’, I live in mine whenever I’m hanging around my employee housing.

I can handle almost all weather with a fleece or a puffer underneath a good rain jacket. They pack down small and will also keep the wind off you out on a lake or up in the mountains.

A charging station is a must have. A lot of employee housing was built decades ago and there never is enough outlets. I always take an extension cord too.
