When you’re driving thousands of miles every 6 months to your next seasonal job, you need to have your vehicle dialed in. We took a good look at the gear we use and came up with the essentials that make these road trips so much easier. My wife and I have completed multiple cross country road trips using this set-up, our car is still clean and we have yet to get broken into – even parking in big cities like Dallas or Chicago. Space is valuable, when working seasonal jobs, almost everything you need to live for 6 months, needs to be with you.

Love these! They are a pain to get in and out of once they’re strapped down. We fit; all of our camping gear, a big plastic tote, and 2 of the big blue packing bags full of vacuum sealed clothes.

At $25, these are a a steal. Coupled with vacuum sealed bags, you could fit more than enough clothes for a 6 month season in just 2 of them.

Have to admit, I was skeptical of these after using Yakima products for decades – they’re great. With them you can carry everything from kayaks to roof boxes for gear on the top of your car.

You could put a roof bag directly onto the top of your car, I didn’t want to risk putting weight on our sun roof or damage the paint. These baskets are a low cost way to keep gear from touching your car.

Save yourself the stress of having to worry about the carpet in your car. People spill, shoes are muddy, dogs are dirty. Throw down some cheap rubber mats and just spray them off whenever they get dirty.

When working seasonal jobs you find yourself in remote places with no cell service. You have to be able to take care of yourself. These are small and cheap and you’ll never have to worry about a dead car battery again.

Shove one of these under your driver seat and you should be able to fix most things on the road. Pretty much if you can’t fix something using this tool box you’re going to have to call a tow truck.

My transitions between seasons got way easier when I got vacuum bags. Seal em up, pack them into blue packing bags and hit the road. I can 4 times the stuff in the same amount of room.

With a portable air compressor and a can of fix a flat you should be able to limp your car along to help, even from the gnarliest mountain roads. Bonus with these models is that hey can blow up paddle boards too.
