Once the rainy weather blows out for the summer at the end of June, you have 3 months of perfect weather. It’s easy to get to, drive, take Amtrak, or fly. Where is West Glacier and how do I get there?

West Glacier is located in the NW corner of Montana, it’s northern border is Canada. It is easily accesed by Amtrak, every day the train from Seatlle or Portland passes through heading for Chicago at 8:00am. The Chicago train heading West comes around 8:30pm. I worked winters in Colorado for years and rode the train back and forth numerous times, it was one of my favorite parts of the season.

Flying is easy too. With direct flights to Glacier International from Chicago, Denver, and Seattle you can actually fly in and out for pretty cheap in the shoulder seasons.

What is there to do?

This is where West Glacier wins out compared to most other summer seasonal jobs. There is always something to do. Freda’s, the bar in West Glacier Village is usually open until 11 every night. The Belton Bridge usually has a party going on day and night.
